ASSUMPTION OF RISKS UPON ENTRY TO KINGSTON PENITENTIARY
The St Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) is licensed to operate tours and other activities at Kingston Penitentiary.
The adult, parent or guardian (the “Participant”) wants, together with the children (the “Children”) under their care, to participate in one of the Kingston Penitentiary tours or activities taking place at the Kingston Penitentiary in Kingston, Ontario – both through the historic site and prison buildings.
By entering the premises the Participant understands that:
(a) At all times during the Tour the Participant is required to remain with the tour group, which will be led by a tour guide and will follow a predetermined tour route. If the Participant separates from the tour group he or she could get lost, become disoriented or enter into an unauthorized area
(b) Under no circumstances should the Participant:
- Enter into any unauthorized areas, which may include locking hardware that could lock behind a person and prevent their exit temporarily;
- Drink running water in the prison building, which is currently designated as non-potable;
- Attempt to use the elevators in the prison building, which are not currently in operation;
(c) The Tour may include the following activities:
- Walking through areas of the prison building which are not brightly lit
- Walking over inconsistent or uneven surfaces within and around the prison buildings;
- Exposure to potentially offensive graffiti on the walls of the prison building; and
- Exposure to extreme heat, humidity, rain or other inclement weather;The Participant confirms that the Participant and each of the Children is in sufficient physical condition to participate in the Tour or activities;
(d) The Participant confirms that they are over eighteen years of age. The Participant agrees that the Participant will supervise the Children (those under 18) while engaging in the Tour or activities;
(e) The Tour involves certain elements of risk and that accidents may occur if they do not follow these rules. The Participant, on the Participant’s own behalf and on behalf of each of the Children, hereby expressly and specifically assumes the risk of injury or harm in the Tour or activities at Kingston Penitentiary.

ACCEPTATION DES RISQUES DÈS L’ENTRÉE DU PÉNITENCIER DE KINGSTON
La Commission des parcs du Saint-Laurent est licencié à opérer des visites guidées et autres activités au Pénitencier de Kingston.
L’adulte, le parent ou tuteur susnommé (le « participant ») souhaite participer, en compagnie du ou des enfants susmentionnés (les « enfants »), à l’une des visites guidées ou activités ayant lieu au Pénitencier de Kingston situé à Kingston, en Ontario – à l'intérieur du lieu historique et des bâtiments de détention.
En accédant le Pénitencier de Kingston, le participant comprend que :
(a) Le participant est tenu, en tout temps durant la visite guidée, de demeurer avec son groupe qui sera accompagné d’un guide et suivra un itinéraire prédéterminé. Si le participant s’éloigne de son groupe, il est possible qu'il s’égare, se sente perdu ou entre dans une zone interdite.
(b) En aucun cas, le participant n’est autorisé à :
- entrer dans les zones interdites d'accès, qui pourraient être munies d’un dispositif de verrouillage susceptible d’enfermer la personne et de l’empêcher temporairement d’en ressortir;
- boire l’eau courante dans le bâtiment de détention, puisqu’elle est non potable;
- tenter d’utiliser les ascenseurs se trouvant dans le bâtiment de détention, car ils ne sont pas en service.
(c) La visite guidée et les activités peuvent inclure ce qui suit :
- marcher dans certaines zones du bâtiment de détention qui sont mal éclairées;
- voir des graffitis obscènes dessinés sur les murs du bâtiment de détention;
- être exposé à une chaleur intense, à beaucoup d’humidité, à de la pluie ou à d’autres conditions climatiques défavorables.
(d) Le participant confirme que le participant et les enfants sont dans un assez bon état physique afin de participer à la visite guidée ou aux activités.Walking over inconsistent or uneven surfaces within and around the prison buildings;
(e) Le participant confirme qu’il est âgé d’au moins 18 ans. Le participant confirme qu’il supervisera les enfants lors de leur visite au Pénitencier de Kingston.
(f) La visite guidée et les activités au Pénitencier de Kingston comprennent certains éléments de risque et que certains accidents peuvent arriver s’ils ne suivent pas les règlements. Par la présente, le participant, pour son propre compte et pour le compte de chacun des enfants, assume explicitement et spécifiquement le risque de blessure et de dommage pendant leur visite au Pénitencier de Kingston.
